Is an MSW candidate at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She is currently placed at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, working primarily with immigrant survivors of domestic violence. Previously, Julia worked as a counselor-advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking. In this role she provided direct services, community education and policy advocacy with a focus on LGBTQIA communities. Julia was also a member of the Leadership Committee for the Queer Caucus Against Sexual Assault and the Legislative Action Committee for the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence. Her current interests lie at the intersections of trauma and sexuality, in particular centering LGBTQIA and immigrant voices and experiences.
