Anthony is pursuing a PhD Social Work at the University of Chicago. His interests involve the ways in which people relate to their gender and how this dynamic impacts mental health presentation and risk/resilience, international comparisons in the mental health of and access for gender diverse people, and the cultural and behavioral aspects of the street economy for gender and sexual minority young people. Before entering the PhD program, he worked as a clinical social worker for over a decade with LGBTQ+ people, people living with HIV/AIDS, young people, and people with dual diagnoses in schools. He continues to engage in clinical practice part-time with mostly Trans and Non-Binary young people.
