Nicole Lopez
(they/them)
Is an MSW student at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. They first became passionate about sexuality research when they were pursuing their B.A. in psychology and minor in human sexuality at the University of Kansas. There, Nicole worked in labs that covered topics such as kink, consent, and a plethora of other sexuality topics. Through working with these labs, they realized the importance of research and education. Since then, they have developed trainings for social workers and other helping professionals on BDSM, polyamory, and consensual non-monogamy. Nicole remains passionate about marginalized sexualities, genders, and relationship orientations. Through the Sexuality Relationship and Gender Research Collective, they are excited to have the opportunity to continue pursuing these passions by researching and then using that research to educate peers and their community.
